McKenzie River Inn

McKenzie River Inn “Retreat for the Arts”

McKenzie River Inn

Three acres of lush grounds and 460 feet of river frontage surrounded by old growth forest highlight the historic McKenzie River Inn. Meander along trails that lead to benches and picnic areas or visit our orchard with fruit and nut trees. Stay in one of our riverside cabins or attend the retreats to learn the techniques (world-) class artists use in their work of art.

Retreats

Our (artist-) retreat-workshop program offers teachings and instruction from various artists (world-) famous for their work throughout the year. The 700 square feet studio is utilized with work benches, easels, and leather sewing machines and our outdoor courses, like painting classes, take place on our patio in spectacular surroundings. These classes have limited enrollment and come with full meals and daily excursions. Check this site for our 2018 itinerary of artist retreats or call us on 541 822 660 or e-mail innkeeper@mckenzieriverinn.com for more information.

Some of our recent reviews

Dear Bert,

Wow—you are an unique and special person!!! I got your “gift certificate” for the Kingfisher Cabin. I must say, your generosity and consideration was a pleasant surprise and so very much appreciated during a major life event. This death was such a major shock to the family involved. The death occurred the day before our trip to your cabin was to be. The disappointment regarding the loss of the trip was pale compare to the death of a father and a husband!!! The death was not anticipated at all and was a major chock to several people.

Again, your generosity has made a big difference!!! We are all in shock, so I am not sure when we will be able to take advantage of your offer—but we intend on using it at some point. When things settle a bit, I will call and schedule a time when it seems the cabin is available. Also, yes—it would be fun to fit a float trip on the the river!!

Thank you so very much—you have provided a positive memory during a really bad situation—

Review #22513404 “The River Otter Cabin on the mighty McKenzie River!”

Cozy cottage with beautiful view of the river (and a great fishing spot!)

I loved the character of the cottage. Paintings on the wall were done by a friend of the owner and the owner is an excellent person. Loved the coziness of the cottage! The cottage has a little deck and leads out to a perfect spot on the McKenzie river. We got to do some fishing right outside of the cottage, it was wonderful! We also thoroughly enjoyed the string of lights that came on in the back.

This cabin was the perfect getaway for my partner and I. Fishing steps from our porch was the best, and the accommodations were comfortable and cozy. The owners were warm, helpful, and friendly. We hope to return next summer!
