We love to convert folks into river people!
Spending a day on the river allows you to relax from the hustle and bustle of
every day life. Come see for yourself, the natural beauty and exhilaration that
a river trip can offer your mind and body.
Our Amenities
History
This rustic homestead built in 1929; was established as a bed &
breakfast in 1978, making it the oldest B&B's on the river. The pioneers started
with a small cabin and expanded to the lodge as it is now. Found in the shop
were wooden crates with the family name and town it was destined for. The
orchard, full of fruit and nut trees, sustained the families daily needs as it
does for our guests today.

Relaxing Atmosphere
Take a stroll on our river trail which brings you to hammocks or benches and bring a book. Lay out on the lawn next to the river and sunbathe a moment to enjoy the sunset over the bluff on the river right in front of your cabin or the inn. We have three acres to view wildlife and a nesting pair of Osprey to entertain us. Bring the family and have a BBQ while they play ball in the orchard. Rent the whole Inn for family reunions or company retreats, there's plenty of space.

Breakfast
We cater to vegetarian and allergy diets. This includes wheat free, dairy free, peanut free meals. Any other specific needs may be requested. Menu items vary between Famous Salmon Omelets; Belgium Hazelnut Waffles, Garden Medley Quiche; Southern Style Eggs Benedict, Delicious Blueberry Pancakes; Fresh Fruit from our orchard; Heavenly Fruit filled Crepes; Timeless French Toast

Your Hosts
Bert not only cooks a great gourmet breakfast, but also brings
to the Inn his European hospitality and his knowledge of birds and other wildlife. Hubertina contributes to the gardening and creates the home like atmosphere at the Inn that the guests have appreciated. The de Klerk's combine an American bed & breakfast stay with a European touch to provide a unique experience in the scenic McKenzie River Valley.

Fishing
The original pioneers remember when the gravel bar out on the river hosted picnics for members of the farming community. We still consider it one of the best fishing areas around. On any given day you can see the guests wading in to cast out a
fly or lure. A lengthy 1200 foot bar provides habitat for rainbow, cutthroat trout and the occasional steel head.
